City in an Orchard – Upcoming Workshops

Join a collective effort to support the care of our urban orchards and be part of a team of volunteers who will help these trees thrive for generations.

NeighborSpace is excited to nurture our “City in an Orchard” through these FREE workshop opportunities:

  • ‘Sit in an Orchard‘ Chair Yoga & Meditation – Joe-Ella Williams Memorial Garden (3817 W Flournoy St) Weekly Sundays at 10am
  • Summer Pruning apple trees at FarmWorks on Albany 407 N Albany Ave Thursday July 30th 10am to Noon
  • Plums, peaches, apricots, etc at Earl’s Garden Mae’s Kitchen (6914 S Perry Ave) Monday August 3rd 8:30am to 10:30am and spotted lantern fly traps

– Ferment: what to do with what you’ve thinned
– Summer Heading Cuts: pruning to reduce the height of mature fruit trees

– Forest Bathing: immersion into our roles as part of nature
– Drum Circle: experience rhythms of the season in the shade of the trees
– Tree Tours: the context of your trees in your neighborhood forest
– Screen Printing: sharing the story of your trees and the ecosystem they inhabit
