How Long Will the Review & Acquisition Process Take?

Typically, the application review process can take from 4 to 6 months depending on the current docket of applications being reviewed. In some cases, if there is immediate danger of losing a community managed garden or park because of a land sale or its redevelopment, NeighborSpace may be able to "fast track" application review.

If an application is favorably reviewed, NeighborSpace staff begins the acquisition process. As you may know, property acquisition can involve many steps and many potential challenges unique to each site. Many sites have been acquired fairly quickly, taking no more than a few months. However, given potential challenges, this stage of the process can also take up to 1 or 2 years.
