Reimbursements, Fiscal Account Information, and Go Fund Me Instructions

REIMBURSEMENTS/ PAYING SOMEONE FROM YOUR FISCAL ACCOUNT/GETTING PAID BY NeighborSpace: (PLEASE READ, THIS IS NEW as of Spring 2023).

NeighborSpace recently implemented an online bill payment system using Bill.com. This allows us to process payments electronically (called “ACH transfers”), meaning that our bank connects directly with your bank to distribute the funds into your account. We strongly prefer using electronic payments since it reduces the risk of fraud/issues with mail, and helps you get paid faster!

Thanks for your patience as we transition into this new system. Ultimately, this system will better meet the needs of all involved, though we expect there will be twists and turns along the way as we learn the best process for all our stakeholders.

Going forward, please send all invoices to bills@neighbor-space.org

Please see here for more details on invoicing and reimbursements.

FISCAL ACCOUNTS:

Thinking of having a fundraising event for a project in the garden? Maybe you have raised beds available for this upcoming growing season. Having a fiscal agent account through NeighborSpace allows garden groups the ability to accept donations online and apply to grants as if it was a 501c3 organization. Donations to the garden are tax deductible for individuals making the donation through the fiscal agent account. For additional information or questions regarding fiscal agency policies, including running reports for gardens who have a fiscal account, please contact fiscals@neighbor-space.org. Please give us two weeks to be able to turn this information around for you.

Fiscal Agency Account Procedures

Please note: Sometimes garden groups apply for non-profit grants using NeighborSpace’s non-profit status. While we highly encourage this, please be aware that there will be fiscal agency fee (3-10%) and sometimes higher, if there is a lot of bookkeeping, check writing, grant reporting, programming, and administration work. Please be aware that garden groups need to tell NeighborSpace prior to submitting budgets, to make sure this administration/programming fee is determine and included before hand. This fee allows NeighborSpace to pay the cost of the staff member administering the fee.

INSTRUCTIONS ON SETTING UP A GO FUND ME CONNECTED TO NEIGHBORSPACE’S NONPROFIT STATUS:
