About the garden: The 62nd Street Garden is a cooperative organic allotment garden located on the Southeast side of Chicago in the Woodlawn neighborhood. The garden has over 120 plots that offer 100 sq feet of gardening to individuals and families. These plots are leased to individual families for the growing season to independently plant, maintain and harvest. This inviting green space is committed to growing food organically and giving back to our neighbors. We grow a variety of vegetables in garden boxes along the sidewalks where neighbors are invited to harvest. Many of our gardeners participate in KAM Isaiah Israel’s Gleaning Program, where volunteers collect unharvested food and donate it to local soup kitchens and shelters.
