Brickyard Garden is an allotment garden serving 25 families in Woodlawn and South Hyde Park. They have always donated extra produce, but this year they decided to do it in a more organized way by dedicating plots for donation. This allowed them to ask their recipient, Living Room Café, what produce they preferred. This season they are growing collards, kale, and lettuce. Gardener Carolyn Johnson believes that gardeners interested in donating produce “should do what works best for you and for the people to whom you’re donating.”
